Brian Hebert and Friends: Home
Crossing the Bar
More morphs and original pieces from Brian Hebert and Friends, with a unique approach to recasting Irish, Americana, blues, R&B, gypsy, and pop tunes into richly textured instrumentals, many featuring electric tenor guitar. Brian Hebert is joined on Crossing the Bar with 3 very gifted musicians: Eric Wright on cello, Lindsay Straw on bouzouki, and Joey Sullivan on bodhran. Like the wildly colored image of the Liver Bird on the album cover, these tunes turn the classic and the traditional into something new. In addition to drawing from the Irish and Appalachian traditions, morphed tunes inspired by The Animals, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Ringo, Stevie Wonder, Green Day, Flo Rida, and Nicki Minaj
